UU Allies for Racial Equity

ARE offers two way to support the work of the organization. You can become a Member or a Friend. A Member must make an annual contribution and is expected to be involved in the work of anti-racism. A Friend makes at least a one-time contribution but is not actively involved in the work at this time.

ARE Member

An ARE Member is someone who can affirm the following:

• As a person who identifies as white, I support the ARE vision of an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, multicultural Unitarian Universalist faith. I support building a movement among white Unitarian Universalists to understand white privilege, unlearn racism and white supremacy and to confront racism in all its forms.


• I pledge that as a member of ARE and a potential ally of members of DRUUMM, a UU People of Color Organization, I will:
• Develop a personal anti-racist practice of reflection, learning and action
• Work with others in my congregation and my community, in mutuality and right relationship, toward transformation and wholeness
• With other members of ARE, be accountable for these commitments to DRUUMM


• I offer an annual financial pledge, as my means permit and my heart requires

ARE Friend

An ARE Friend is someone who can affirm the following:

• I support the ARE vision of an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, multicultural Unitarian Universalist faith. I support building a movement among white Unitarian Universalists to understand white privilege, unlearn racism and white supremacy and to confront racism in all its forms. 


• I offer a financial pledge to support the work of ARE, as my means permit and my heart requires
